Employment & Education Unit

The Employment & Education Unit provides members with support in rejoining the workforce and/or furthering their education.

WORK ORDERED DAY

When a member joins Canefields Clubhouse he/she can choose a unit that each member  would like to work in.  However there is always the choice available to work for another unit at any time.

Each unit has a leader who is responsible for ensuring that members who wish to be involved in the unit have the opportunity to access those activities which interest them.  Work in each unit is a shared experience with staff and members working together to perform all tasks including maintenance and cleaning.

Canefields Clubhouse members also have the opportunity to participate in supervised paid work to regain confidence and self esteem through our Transitional Employment programs.

Once members feel fully confident and qualified to work they can then look at getting a full time or part time job.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

Members can also participate in in-house training and educational courses such as computer courses and first-aid courses.  Educational classes are also available as the Clubhouse has links with various educational agencies including Eagleby Learning Centre, TAFE and the local Universities.

Social Recreation

Social Recreation provides a great chance to socialise with new friends outside of the work-ordered day.
Such outings as Sizzlers, BBQ in the park, DVD afternoon, Coffee Shop, Lawn Bowls are organised.

Administration & Reception Unit

This Unit is responsible for a range of clerical and reception duties.

Maintenance Unit

This Unit is responsible for the basic maintenance of the Clubhouse building as well as care of tools and equipment
