Text Box: The Reception and Administration Unit is responsible for reception, answering the phones, meeting and greeting of members, recording attendance of members, general administration duties, producing bi-monthly newsletter, outreach of members and orientation of new members.
The last two months we have been very busy organizing a fundraising raffle to raise money for members to attend the 8th Australasian Clubhouse Conference in Manly from the 14-17th September 2008. We were also very busy organizing banners and signs for the Beenleigh Canefest parade in which the Clubhouse participated this year. We had to design signs that had slogans promoting mental health and organize lollies and brochures to hand out on the day.
In other news, many of our members have learnt new skills from attending the computer courses that we have been running. We did a basic beginners course and an internet course. These new skills have been very beneficial to the work in the unit.
It hasn’t all been work though, many of our members attended our social recreation outing for shoppaholics at Harbour Town.
If you have or would like to gain skills in reception and/or administration or would like to find out more, come and join us in the administration and reception unit or email us:

Members at their choice are involved in the writing of all records reflecting their participation in the Clubhouse.  All such records are to be signed by both member and staff”.

I think its great how members are allowed to have there say in participating  in the running of the Clubhouse. I also find it great that the members are able to have their say in regards to what written records are kept.  I also like the fact that all records are signed by the member as well as staff.
