EMPLOYMENT AND EDUCATIONText Box: Congratulations to Mani on starting his Transitional Employment program (T.E.) at Langs Timber and Hardware, and moving onto training for a Supported Employment (S.E.) program. Langs has generously agreed to support Mani with extra training and support to refresh and brush up his forklift skills. Mani will be going into Langs every Saturday to do on the job training with his forklift, so he can transit smoothly and effortlessly into his new S.E. job as a forklift operator! We can’t wait to see him driving his forklift in November, happy and proud that he is holding a full time job independently! Wetfix Spring Water bottling company’s position is still on hold, and we will be waiting eagerly for them to finish approximately in July, so the water bottling position is open for grabs! Keep your eyes peeled and register your interest coming into Employment and Education! Also, congrats to Nathan W. for starting his new T.E. at Qld Health, and having such a great reference from Interlink Housing and Support for doing an exceptionally well job cleaning houses! He will receive a certificate of service from them as well as great references. This will aid him substantially in any future employment endeavors! Henry has started his placement with Interlink Housing and Support, and he is enjoying the job very much. He does about 50 push ups and situps before he starts cleaning houses and cleans them spick and span in seconds! The interests for the computer courses have waned, as there were many conducted for the last 2 months. They will reopen once there are enough members wanting to enroll – we need at least 4-5 members to create a course. Come see Ben in the E&E unit to find out more about employment or education in any aspects! He will gladly oblige to help you out anytime, anyway.
