Stories and PoemsUntitled For not seen in the light Sensible doings you hit rock bottom what now, no friends
to tell a story to To imagine brushing her hair and seeing her hands No age will ever come to or destroy what is real A sun set a remembering walk along the beach holding the
hand of a loved one at midnight - By Mel Crocker ______________________________________________________________________________ a BIG thank-you I would like to thank our mothers, our fathers and the people we call our parents if we don’t have any or if our real parents aren’t there for us the ones who are there for us. Do we really take the time to truly thank for all the care and love they give to us each and every day? Do we really know how much we mean to them? We the children should thank our parents for all the things they do for us. For all the sacrifices they make for us, and for all the unlimited love they seem to have for us. Take the time to thank them, can it hurt to say “thanks” or to take the time to show them a little love in return? We make so many mistakes, and act like we know more than you, we act like we don’t care, but you’re still there for us and we thank you. We do what we want, when we want and when you don’t what we want we kick up a stink, not knowing that you are only trying to keep us safe from harm, and we thank you. A parents love is truly something powerful and everlasting. For all the years they look after us, watch out for us and take the time to be there for us, how often do we take the time to return the favour? We should take the time to maybe help our parents out if we can and try and make time to spend time with them. Doesn’t matter what it is as long as we take the time to be with them. There will come a time when we will no longer have them and we will miss them more than we can imagine. So please people take the time to tell them how much you love them and how much you appreciate them. I personally want to say a big thanks to my mum and dad and grandparents for all the love I get and thanks for everything you have done and continue to do for me. Clinton Muir ______________________________________________________________________________ Hello, My name is Colin I have been coming to Canefields Clubhouse for over 12 months now. I was introduced to Canefields after my epilepsy got worse and combined caused a breakdown app. 2 years prior. All sections of the Clubhouse that I have worked in are welcoming and and are assisting me in every way. I was born in Queensland and before retirement on a DSP worked as a store man and clerk. While I currently don’t partake in much social recreation the best trip was when we went to Saint Bernard's where I returned with a replica of their head large Saint Bernard Dog. For Christmas this year 2009 I travelled to my sisters in Melbourne whom I have not seen for well over 18 months. I am looking forward with open arms to the 2010 Australasian Conference to enable my further understanding of Canefields. When I started at Canefields I had no understanding of computers or how they worked, but since my time here and my participation in various computer courses I have now learnt almost all of the ins and outs. I believe that as time proceeds I will improve and hope that by continuing to take part in social recreation which will continue to give me a solid outlook on life. ______________________________________________________________________________ Nathan’s Approval for NILS Loan! Hi my name is Nathan Krebs and I am a member of Canefields Clubhouse. When I first became a member I didn’t know much about computers! Over time Canefields has introduced me to computers and had taught me how they operate. I have been attending introductory and intermediate computer courses on Wednesdays. This has been extremely beneficial as the knowledge I have gained has helped broaden my horizons. Thanks to Canefields’ NILS I can now buy my own laptop so that I can develop my computer skills by practicing on my computer in the privacy of my own home. I like the idea of having a laptop because of the convenience. No matter where I go I can take my laptop. The best news of all is that I don’t have to pay interest on the money I borrow. I think that this a great idea for me as well as many of other people I know from Canefields. To get this loan I scribbled down a quick budget. From here I was able to see how much money I had and where it was going. From here I was able to work out that this NILS was attainable for me. So I went ahead and applied for the loan. I was accepted so this meant that I was able to buy the laptop I had my eye on. It was the best feeling and I couldn’t stop smiling! I am glad that I now have my own computer. This will aid in my further education and help me gain new skills that will be also greatly benefit me, socially and professionally. Thanks to Canefields for helping me gain this loan. Its made the world of difference.
