Canefields Clubhouse News!
Training Visit On the 5trh of August Canefields Clubhouse was Visited by all the Clubhouses in Training at Stepping Stone Clubhouse, it was a big day for all of us but a lot of fun! We got to exchange knowledge about our experiences in the Clubhouse Model and get to know each other. There were a LOT of photos taken and we all got to work, the Mega unit had a big outreach day and we all worked on making cards together for our missing members, while the Employment and Education unit had an in-house training course on so everyone got involved and helped out by exchanging skills and knowledge. The Catering unit got straight to work with a huge lunch order and the end result was mouth watering! who doesn't love a BBQ lunch followed by Pavlov! what a true Australian lunch it was! we finished off with a few more photos and then our visitors sadly had to leave us... with the dirty dished we could add... ha ha thanks to everyone who came on the day it was lovely to meet you all!

As you would appreciate my career of an artist places a strain on me time wise as I am a one man production covering a large market. For all the artists in the club I will make every Endeavour to watch your progress during the year as Margaret and I have done in the past. One of the highlights of my year is to attend your art evening and auction where it is so evident the progress that the artists obtain in such a short period of time. You would not be aware that Marg and I collect art from all around the world and pride of place are all the paintings that we have purchased from the Clubhouse artists. Art is such an important tool in expressing who we are and showing to the world with pride the personal journey we are on. Over the years I have been very honest with my art and have not been afraid to paint what and how I want to but by doing this I have been subjected to criticism. As an artist you must always remember you do not paint for anyone else but for yourself, as this is your personal journey. Again I would like to say how honored and excited I am in becoming a member of the Canefields Clubhouse and looking forward to the opportunity to meet each and every one of you.
