2009 Art Exhibition, Cocktails

& Auction Night!  

Our Annual Art Show was held at the Beenleigh PCYC during Mental Health Week on the 9th of October 2009.

Our Art Show was to celebrate mental wellness and to exhibit the wonderful work that members work all year round to produce. a Range of art was shown on the night from paintings to photography and mosaics. A selected few were auctioned and got great prices, and the rest were sold for a set price. All money raised from the art work is given back to members so they can work on there skills and produce more art for the following year. The night consisted of champagne and wines, nibbles and fantastic art work while socialising with members and people in the community. Art Classes!

Art Classes are held at Canefields Clubhouse for all our members, it class is run by an art teacher (Kerry) and a member (Lyle). The class is run at a minimum cost to member where art canvases are the only cost. in the two hour session the members paint master pieces of work that they usually choose to sell at our Annual Art Show. we run our art class at the end of the work ordered day so that our members can all relax after a long week and express their artistic sides on a canvas. Art class is a great way to outreach and engage members who haven't been in for a while and also a great way for members to socialise together.
